Coronavirus Update
Like most charities who work to combat food poverty, Covid-19 has presented us with many challenges. As a start-up charity that launched in November 2019 we knew that responding to the crisis was the right thing to do whilst also appreciating the difficulties we would face as a new organisation without huge reserves to draw on. We set aside our plans for 2020, launching our Coronavirus Care campaign on 16th March, and through our food bank on-wheels we have worked with Manchester City Council’s Emergency Food Response (now Manchester Food Partnership), local NHS services, CAB, Housing Associations as well as taking referrals from multiple agencies across Greater Manchester. To date we have supported residents in the provision of over 25,000 meals overall.
